A long-established and highly respected structural and civil engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading structural design work across a range of projects, providing technical excellence, and supporting both junior staff and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage structural engineering design across multiple projects
Deliver high-quality technical outputs in line with relevant UK codes and standards
Prepare, check, and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical reports
Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, and the wider design team
Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, offering guidance and technical leadership
Support business development activities, including proposals and client meetings
Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and quality systems
Key Requirements
Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE preferred)
Minimum 6 years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy
Strong technical expertise across steel, concrete, timber, masonry, and composite materials
Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to completion
Excellent communication and leadership skills with client-facing experience
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
Competent in AutoCAD and/or Revit
