Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with a rapidly growing organisation based in Oxford within the renewable energy industry to recruit an Accountant for a 12 month MAT cover contract, with an opportunity to go permanent.
The Accountant will receive a salary of up to £45,000 along with other attractive benefits including hybrid remote working, you will only need to go into the office 2-3 days a week!
Primary responsibilities;
1. Adhere to financial controls / policies
2. Maintaining accurate supplier records across jurisdictions, including onboarding details and ensuring compliance with financial controls
3. Month-end preparation: accruals, prepayments, control accounts reconciliation, and VAT / GST close (ensuring all postings in place and sample testing)
4. Daily bookkeeping: invoice posting (including employee expenses)
5. Some invoice preparation
6. Payment process: AP/AR schedules and settlements
7. Month-end and VAT / GST close tasks (overlap with financial control environment but focus here is statutory compliance)
8. Global bank reconciliations
9. VAT/GST close: ensuring all postings in place and sample testing
10. Maintaining accurate global supplier records, including onboarding details
Key experience and attributes;
11. Strong experience within a similar finance role
12. Month end experience
13. Proven experience with different accounting software
14. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
15. Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills
16. Effective communication and organisational skills
