Job Description:
The Independent Living Service is managed centrally by a qualified Occupational Therapy Manager and Deputy Manager and includes community equipment, housing, adaptations and Technology Enabled Living Services. We will also shortly be opening a new Assessment and Demonstration Centre focusing on developing our exciting new front door assessment and advice services.
As a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist, you will work as part of a wider team with scope to practice with a diverse service user group and within a variety of rural, town, village and city settings. You will have supervisory responsibility for a small group of Occupational Therapy staff and maintain a small case load of complex cases. You will need strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be committed to ongoing staff and service development.
Due to our wide range of enablement services, we encourage specialism practitioner roles in Moving and Handling, Technology Enabled Living, Adaptations and Equipment Clinical Lead for our Community Equipment Store. As Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist you will have the duty of dealing with daily referral enquiries, undertaking audits and attendance at regular stakeholder meetings. and managing staff performance. You will have responsibility for mentoring staff, students and managing performance, maintaining professional, organisational standards and championing key professional specialisms.
As a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist, you will be:
Registered as an Occupational Therapist with HCPC
Hold a Degree or Diploma qualified in Occupational Therapy
Have at least 3 years post qualified experience in Occupational Therapy: of which at least 2 years should be in Adult Social Care
Experienced in undertaking assessments for equipment and technology to increase independence and safety/ decrease dependence upon formal care
Experienced in undertaking assessments for complex and non:complex adaptations
Have supervisory experience
