Interim Financial Reporting Consultant
Contract Length: Until March (Outside IR35)

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Stanton House is proud to be partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed renewable energy business (£40m revenue) to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Reporting Consultant. This is a hands-on role, critical to restoring financial reporting rigour following a recent team restructure.
The business is lean but high-calibre and is looking for an interim expert to lead the preparation of statutory accounts across 30 legal entities, support group consolidations, and manage the upcoming year-end audit process. You’ll work directly with the CFO and play a key role in readying the business for its next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the CFO to re-establish a robust, efficient, and compliant finance function.
* Prepare and finalise statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and relevant regulatory standards.
* Lead the full audit lifecycle: compiling audit packs, managing timelines, liaising with auditors, and delivering key outputs.
* Support group-level financial reporting to Macquarie Asset Management, including consolidation and complex technical disclosures.
* Perform and document going concern assessments based on forecasts, funding, and project delivery milestones.
* Conduct impairment reviews of development assets and other critical balance sheet items in line with IAS 36 and internal policies.
* Resolve technical accounting issues with clear, pragmatic solutions that comply with IFRS.
* Drive continuous improvement across internal controls, financial systems, and reporting processes during a period of transformation.
Candidate Profile
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), ideally trained in a Big 4 or top-tier practice.
* Significant experience preparing and auditing statutory financial statements under IFRS.
* Track record of leading audits in fast-paced, private equity-backed businesses.
* Strong understanding of going concern assessments and impairment reviews, especially in capital-intensive or project-based sectors.
* Proactive, analytical, and solutions-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, auditors, and external advisors.
* Comfortable working independently in a lean, high-performance team, and adept at managing competing priorities.
This is a great opportunity for an interim professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving complex reporting challenges in a business with purpose.
