Finance Assistant
Location: Hybrid
Hours: 20 hours PW
Salary: £15,000
Role
We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to support our busy Finance team. This role will be varied, covering standard month‑end, year‑end procedures as well as providing ad‑hoc support for the group finance team.
Responsibilities
* Assist with day‑to‑day financial transactions and record‑keeping
* Monitor and respond to the accounts inbox, answering queries within agreed SLAs
* Billing preparation – collecting monthly figures, invoice preparations, monitoring contract agreements, billing schedules maintenance
* Credit control management, producing weekly statements, identifying and resolving account discrepancies, errors and potential anomalies; contacting customers to discuss payment
* Bank/credit card transactions and cash book reconciliations
* Process purchase invoices
* Processing of month‑end journals as required
* Assist in month‑end closing process (i.e. cost analysis by ledger account)
Qualifications
* Previous experience in day‑to‑day finance transactions
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines across different disciplines
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to act on own initiative as well as being a team player
* Ability to identify potential issues and problems in a timely manner and take relevant actions
* Proficiency in using financial software (preferably Sage 50/200) with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Eager to learn and absorb information from the team and other departments, contribute own viewpoint/opinion
