We are currently looking for a Environmental Permitting Manager to join our friendly team based in the East Midlands.
The successful candidate will be based in Quorn, Leicestershire, however, you will have the opportunity to work remotely.
As the Environmental Permitting Manager, you will work in a small, friendly team within the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) function supporting the business on a diverse range of projects to obtain permits and licences for land, air, and water for our quarries, concrete, asphalt, and block plants.
Responsibilities
1. Provide technical advice on the permits and licences required for new and existing operations in collaboration with the Operational, Strategic Planning, and Circularity teams.
2. Manage and deliver a wide variety of permits and licences applications.
3. Identify changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits or impact existing permits, and advise the business on actions to ensure compliance.
4. Provide expert advice related to technical issues concerning permit conditions or environmental legislation.
5. Build and manage relationships with regulators.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
* Good communication skills.
* Self-motivation and initiative.
* Strong project management skills.
* Collaboration skills.
* A relevant degree in an environmental or science-related field.
Practical experience in:
* Managing permit applications and liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulators.
* Knowledge of environmental legislation, including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, guidance, practices, and procedures.
* Experience in the minerals, waste, or water sector.
