About the Role JMC Aviation are looking for Temporary Production Operatives/Assistants to join our clients various aviation support departments based in Barry, Cardiff.
Youll be part of a fast-paced, safety-focused workshop environment, supporting basic mechanical work, cleaning, and material handling tasks essential to the smooth operation of aviation maintenance and production activities.
No formal qualifications are required just good hand skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn .
Role Purpose To support the safe and reliable operation of aviation maintenance and production activities by performing basic mechanical tasks, cleaning, packing/unpacking, and maintaining workshop standards. This role works under supervision and contributes directly to maintaining safety and quality compliance.
Key Accountabilities Carry out basic disassembly and assembly of components as directed
Clean work areas, ensuring a tidy and safe environment
Pack/unpack Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and assist in their internal distribution
Complete basic paperwork related to assigned tasks
Use computer systems to perform basic transactions (training provided)
Adhere to company Health, Safety, Fire & Environmental policies
Maintain quality standards and follow defined procedures
Support other tasks across the business as required
Provide cover for other team members where necessary
Requirements Essential:
No formal qualifications required
Basic literacy, numeracy, and hand skills
Ability to use hand tools confidently
Basic manual dexterity for simple mechanical tasks
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
Reliable, proactive, and flexible approach to work
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Basic computer literacy (data entry)
Right to work in the United Kingdom is required

Desirable:
Previous experience in a production or workshop environment
Experience within aviation or mechanical assembly roles
