Start your Social Work career with exceptional support at Swindon.
Beginning your career in children’s social work can feel both exciting and daunting. In Swindon, we have designed our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) Programme to make sure newly qualified social workers feel supported, safe and able to build their confidence in practice.
Our programme offers one of the most supportive and structured pathways for newly qualified social workers in the Southwest.
We are seeking newly qualified social workers who, over the period of their ASYE, will work closely with an experienced Social Worker who will provide them with dedicated development, mentoring and support in relation to the cases assigned to them by their host social work team.
For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It’s why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you will be joining us at an exciting time as we continue to transform services for children and families. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change.
You’ll be supported from day one by a unique structure that gives you access to two managers throughout your first year: your operational manager and a dedicated ASYE assessor. This dual-support model provides a strong support network that helps you build confidence, reflect on your practice and grow into your professional responsibilities at a manageable pace.
Our approach exceeds national expectations and has been developed to ensure that your transition into qualified practice is safe, supported and sustainable. You’ll receive regular, high‑quality supervision that prioritises your wellbeing, learning and professional development.
