This is an exciting opportunity to join the University's Contention Team. The team sits within the wider Legal and Compliance Services Team which contains the Information Compliance, Risk and Governance teams.
You will lead on the investigation of student disciplinary cases, ensuring full compliance with our regulatory obligations to the Office for Students (OfS) in relation to tackling harassment and sexual misconduct, as well as adherence to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator's Good Practice Framework. You will also oversee a modest portfolio of student casework, including academic appeals, academic offences, complaints, and withdrawal appeals.
We are seeking an individual with experience working in a highly sensitive, tightly regulated, and process‑driven environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make sound, confident decisions with minimal supervision. The role requires a personable and approachable manner, enabling the post‑holder to build trust, put students at ease, and support effective information‑gathering during sensitive or challenging casework.
In support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln, our current students, and any currently engaged agency workers who have been with us for more than 12 weeks. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.
