The Company:
Our client is a leading Main Contractor specialising in various sectors, new build, social housing refurbishments, commercial, education, as well as others.
The company have shown remarkable growth over the last 5 years, with current turnover at approx. £22m and projections of £50m by 2025. Due to continued success and growth, our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background that can help fulfil its potential.
The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for a strong Quantity Surveyor who will be based head office in Barnet.
They will oversee various local authority schemes including external refurbishments of blocks of flats - project values between £2m - £15m.
Due to the rapid growth of the company, there will not be a shortage of opportunities for personal growth and career advancement.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
Pricing up design jobs and building tender specifications.
Pricing up tender requests and building client relations.
Price up construction works and tender packs from post and pre contract stages.
Site visits, interrogate drawings and schedules to ensure all aspects covered.
Contract negotiation/protection and ensure CDM compliance.
Price any variations and manage sub-contractor relationships.
Work closely with Commercial Manager with support and guidance from directors.
To be successful as a Quantity Surveyor, you will need to possess the following:
Min 3-6 years proven experience in a QS role.
Experience with schemes from £500k - £20m.
Come from a Refurb/New Build background with main/specialist contractor.
PRE & POST contracts experience is (desirable).
Ability to build trust, relationships and manage expectations.
Degree in Surveying & Commercial Management desired.
Hungry and have ambition to want to succeed.
Have a willingness to learn/adapt to new processes and implement them.
Flexibility required as office and site based. (Sites within half hour of office generally)
