Approved Premises Supervisor
Location: Oxford
Contract: Ongoing, full-time (37 hours per week over a 7-week rota)
Pay: £18 to £27 p/h Ltd
About the Role
Join the Probation Service as a Residential Worker in one of our Approved Premises and make a genuine impact in people’s lives while helping to keep the public safe.
Approved Premises are for individuals released from prison who require a high level of supervision and support as they reintegrate into the community. You’ll play a key part in helping residents comply with their licence conditions, maintain their wellbeing, and work towards a positive future.
This role involves a mix of day and night shifts across a 7-week rolling rota. You’ll be primarily based in Oxford, with occasional travel to nearby establishments when required.
What You’ll Do
Support residents in their transition from custody to community life
Monitor and record behaviour, conduct inspections, and ensure safety standards are met
Build positive relationships with residents, encouraging responsibility and accountability
Work collaboratively with probation officers, partner agencies, and colleagues
Maintain accurate reports and documentation
Uphold a safe, structured, and supportive environmentAbout You
You don’t need a degree to succeed in this role — what matters most are your personal qualities. You’ll be empathetic, calm under pressure, and resilient, with a genuine desire to help people make positive changes.
Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial (but not essential):
Security or risk management
Working within a residential or supported housing setting
Support work or community rolesYou’ll also need good literacy and numeracy skills, as reporting and record-keeping are part of the role.
