Job Description
* Drafting wills, powers of attorney, and basic trust documentation
* Assisting in the administration of estates, including preparing inventory, confirmation (Scottish probate), and inheritance tax forms
* Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and other professionals
* Preparing and submitting applications for guardianship and intervention orders
* Conducting legal research and staying up to date with relevant Scottish legislation and case law
* Assisting with inheritance tax planning and asset protection strategies
* Maintaining accurate case files and ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland and internal protocols
* Supporting solicitors in client meetings and taking notes as required
* Handling client communications in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
* Ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance at all times
The Successful Applicant
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a private client role within a Scottish legal setting
* Sound understanding of Scottish succession law and executry procedures
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files efficiently
* High level of discretion and empathy when dealing with clients in sensitive situations
* Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office
