School Sports & Community Development Officer

Key Responsibilities

* Delivery and growth of Featherstone Rovers Foundation’s School Sport Packages across primary and secondary schools.
* Lead the planning and delivery of engaging PE and extracurricular sessions.
* Organise and support inter-school competitions, sports days, and community events.
* Work alongside school staff to enhance the quality and variety of sport offered in the curriculum.
* Monitor, track, and report on student participation and engagement.
* Ensure all school sport activities are safeguarding-compliant and meet health and safety standards.
* Support the growth and sustainability of local community sports clubs through volunteer support, participant recruitment, and access to training and development opportunities.
* Delivery on our inclusive holiday camps and after-school programmes aimed at engaging children and young people in positive, healthy activities.
* Delivery on our youth clubs and targeted outreach projects that promote social inclusion, personal development, and wellbeing.
* Plan, coordinate, and evaluate community festivals and engagement events for primary and secondary school students, fostering stronger links between schools and the wider community.
* Organise and lead themed events, matchday activities, and promotional campaigns to raise awareness of and increase engagement with Featherstone Rovers Foundation programmes.

Key Skills and Attributes

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Confident working with children, young people, and diverse community groups.
* Proven ability in the delivery of sports coaching in schools and/or clubs.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Understanding of the role of PE and sport within the school curriculum.
* Energetic, motivated, and able to inspire participation across all age groups.
* Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate participation data and reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Proven experience in delivering school or community sports programmes.
* Valid First Aid and Safeguarding Children certification.
* Minimum Level 2 Coaching Qualification.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Degree or diploma in Sports Development, PE, or Community Sport.

Working Hours:

Full-time position, including evening and weekend work as and when required.
