Quality of Education & PracticeDeliver an engaging EYFS-aligned curriculum that supports whole-child development.Oversee high-quality observations, assessments, and planning across the nursery.Maintain exceptional practice through regular room observations, supervisions, and ongoing staff development.Ensure all children - including SEND, EAL and those needing additional support - receive personalised, high-quality provision.Uphold the highest standards of safety, safeguarding, hygiene, and well-being.2. Continuous Improvement & ComplianceLead the nursery’s preparation for Ofsted, LA audits and external inspections.Implement recommendations with precision and urgency.Drive innovation and contribute to strategy meetings, development plans and quality initiatives.\3. Leadership & People DevelopmentRecruit, nurture, develop and retain a committed, motivated staff team.Build a collaborative, warm and accountable culture.Lead staff performance, appraisals, and wellbeing.Build strong relationships with families through communication, meetings, feedback, and celebrations.Ensure all staff confidently uphold safeguarding procedures.4. Operational & Commercial SuccessEnsure staffing ratios, qualifications and compliance meet EYFS/Ofsted expectations.Maintain beautiful, well-resourced indoor and outdoor environments.Manage budgets responsibly and meet occupancy / revenue targets.Convert enquiries, manage waiting lists and maintain excellent parent engagement.Oversee all operational systems, security, equipment and IT platforms.5. Administration & Information ManagementMaintain accurate registers, financial records and statutory documentation.Submit reports to senior leadership, Ofsted, LAs and partner agencies.Ensure confidentiality, GDPR compliance and strong professional standards.6. Additional Leadership DutiesRepresent the nursery at events, meetings and training sessions.Lead evening commitments (parent evenings, celebrations, staff meetings).Undertake keyholder responsibilities and uphold safety and security procedures.
