Location: University of Greenwich, 30 Park Row, Greenwich, London, SE10 9LS
Hours per week: 40 Monday to Friday
Salary: circa £44,000 plus excellent benefits
Annual leave: 26 days excluding public holidays
What you’ll do:
* Lead and supervise a team of on-site engineers, supporting performance, training and development
* Oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across M&E and building fabric systems
* Coordinate daily operations with the Helpdesk team to ensure timely response to service requests
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work procedures
* Carry out routine audits to maintain high standards of quality, compliance and documentation
* Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers – from scheduling to quality assurance and safety checks

What you bring:
* HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject
* Extensive practical experience in building services and plant engineering with formal qualifications and relevant experience within a defined discipline (e.g. electrical, mechanical or similar)
* Previous appointment as Authorised Person for one or more of the following disciplines: LV, Mechanical Services, Confined Spaces, Boiler and Pressure Systems or similar
* Experience working within or around World Heritage Listed properties, buildings and environments
* Excellent communications both written and verbal
* Numerate and computer literate
* Previous experience of managing a team of engineers
* Desirable: Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations
* Desirable: Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
* Desirable: Membership of Institute of Leadership and Management
* Desirable: IOSH Managing Safety
* Desirable: Emergency first aid qualification
* Desirable: IOSH Managing Safety
