This role is pivotal in ensuring our projects deliver real value for the business and our customers, while fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for the performance, growth, and direct supervision of our Project & Delivery team, guiding them through complex, multi-functional projects that span countries and business units. You'll work closely with stakeholders and IT colleagues to define what success looks like and, together with the Regional IT Director, manage the portfolio-balancing resources, risks, and priorities to deliver the projects that matter most. You'll lead by example, ensuring our standards for delivery, governance, and quality are always met, and you'll have the autonomy to make decisions and drive change. Role Objective: Lead the Region's project portfolio, ensuring delivery excellence across complex, cross-functional initiatives. Build a high-performing team, establish robust project governance, and align our work with business goals. Create and maintain the policies, procedures, and standards that underpin our success, and present progress and insights to executive management. Always focus on continuous improvement and delivering value for the business. Specific Responsibilities : People Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of permanent and contract Project & Delivery professionals, ensuring each team member has the support and opportunities to thrive. Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and learning. Champion diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing within the team. Portfolio & PMO Excellence Own the Regional project portfolio, ensuring the right work is prioritised and delivered effectively. Oversee portfolio planning, resource allocation, and capacity management, balancing business priorities and available resources. Drive strong governance, reporting, risk management, and financial controls, ensuring transparency and predictability. Continuously improve PMO standards, tools, and ways of working, keeping the team at the forefront of best practice. Project Delivery Leadership Take hands-on responsibility for select high-impact projects, modelling best practice in project management. Guide teams through ambiguity, ensuring delivery of outcomes on time, within scope and budget. Strategic Partnership & Communication Act as a key link between senior leadership, customers, and project teams. Communicate expectations, progress, risks, and decisions clearly and effectively, tailoring your approach to different audiences. Present portfolio and project status to executive management, enabling informed decision-making. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Identify and implement opportunities to enhance project delivery processes and tools. Drive maturity in project management practices, ensuring the PMO remains fit-for-purpose and future-ready. Stakeholder Management Build and nurture strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including business leaders, IT partners, customers, and external vendors. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding stakeholder needs and ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate open, transparent communication-keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and decisions, and ensuring their voices are heard in key project decisions. Proactively manage stakeholder concerns and resolve conflicts, balancing competing priorities to achieve the best outcomes for the business. Represent the PMO and project delivery function in executive forums, steering committees, and cross-functional initiatives, championing the value and impact of effective project management. Skills/Requirements Inspirational people leadership, previous team management experience with a track record of developing others. Significant experience in project and portfolio management in complex, multi-functional environments. Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and resources. Mastery of structured project delivery practices (Waterfall, Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Lean). Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills. Critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty. Recognised Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI, APM).
