Teaching Assistant – 6th Form Pathways Provision

Due to an earlier-than-expected retirement, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our Pathways provision within the 6th Form. This is a vital support role, working with post-16 students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them succeed in a structured but respectful learning environment.
About the Role:
You’ll work closely with our experienced SEN staff to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development. The successful candidate will:
* Have a good understanding of SEND, particularly in a post-16 context
* Be patient, adaptable, and empathetic
* Understand the importance of treating post-16 students as young adults, promoting independence and self-respect
* Support students in small group and one-to-one settings
* Help create a calm, consistent, and respectful classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience as a TA or in a support role (especially in SEND)
* Confident working with students aged 16–19
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Calm, caring, and able to build positive relationships
This is a part-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing until July 2025, with the potential for extension.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
