Smile Education is working with a highly regarded SEN secondary school in Cheshire to recruit a SEN Learning Support Assistant. This is a full-time role supporting students with autism in a well-resourced, supportive, and inclusive setting.
SEN Learning Support Assistant – Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students with ASC
* Assist in delivering personalised learning plans, under teacher guidance
* Support pupils’ emotional and social development
* Encourage independence and confidence inside and outside the classroom
* Use the school’s excellent facilities, including forest school areas
* Some personal care duties may be required
* Work as part of a passionate and skilled SEN team
Requirements:
* Relevant SEN/Teaching Assistant qualification OR degree (e.g. Psychology, Education)
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (ASC preferred)
* Calm, patient, and proactive personality
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and within a team
* A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
