The Role: Do you believe every child deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of their challenges? We’re seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored SEND support in the classroom, helping pupils access learning, build skills, and thrive socially and academically. Key Responsibilities: Ø Work 1:1 or with small groups of KS2 pupils with SEND, adapting activities to meet individual needs. Ø Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive, engaging lessons. Ø Foster independence, resilience, and self-esteem in children. Ø Assist with sensory needs where required (training provided). Ø Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Ø Create a calm, supportive environment that promotes wellbeing and progress. What We’re Looking For Essential: • Enthusiasm and empathy for working with children with SEND. • Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Strong communication skills to build rapport with pupils, staff, and families. • Willingness to learn – training opportunities available. Desirable: • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – not essential. • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or community setting. • Understanding of strategies for autism and sensory processing.
