As a Lecturer in Children and Young People's Nursing, you will join a motivated team of academics, providing support for teaching and learning across the School. With knowledge, experience, and skills as well as a degree in a relevant subject, you will be expected to contribute predominantly to the Schools postgraduate portfolio with the requirement to contribute to undergraduate education across the wider School portfolio. You will be a committed and motivated professional, you should have excellent communication and teaching skills and be able to motivate and inspire students. Experience in children and young peoples community nursing is beneficial but not essential.
All our education is evidence based and we encourage curiosity and innovation in our staff to enhance our academic portfolio. Opportunities to undertake or contribute to applied health or educational research are promoted. You may also be able to get involved in the Schools commercialisation activities.
Grade 7 Salary Scale: £39,906 - 46,049
Grade 8 Salary Scale: £47,389 56,535
Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience.
Candidates with limited or no prior experience as an academic will be placed on the first point of the Grade 7 scale. Consideration will be given to offering an Academic Attraction Payment (adjusted annually) for those candidates who have specific industry knowledge, skills or, expertise which are required for the position.

JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal Lecturer
RESPONSIBLE FOR: No line management responsibility
PURPOSE OF THE POST:
Contribute to the Schools undergraduate portfolio with the requirement to contribute to postgraduate education. The opportunity to contribute to CPD, scholarly activity and research will be available.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Participate in the development and preparation of teaching.
Provide tutorial and personal guidance for students.
Supervises undergraduate and postgraduate.
Develop and maintain expertise in subject.
Participate in subject and course.
Participate in curriculum development and in particular contributes to the introduction of new methods of teaching, learning and assessment.
Promotes and markets the School and its courses to local, national and international clientele.
Other activities as deemed appropriate by the Associate Dean or the Dean of School.
