Key Responsibilities
* Architect and lead complex platform projects from design to deployment.
* Enable engineering teams with robust CI/CD capabilities through reusable patterns, automation, and security‑first practices.
* Design scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and configuration‑management tools.
* Build and optimize cloud‑native architectures across multiple cloud providers with cost efficiency in mind.
* Engineer containerised environments with advanced orchestration, networking, and security.
* Deliver internal platforms and self‑service capabilities that improve developer experience and reduce friction.
* Implement observability stacks—metrics, logs, traces, and proactive alerting for reliability.
* Champion security and compliance across infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
* Architect secure, scalable networking solutions for hybrid and cloud environments.
* Drive continuous improvement through automation, scripting, and tooling.
* Lead and mentor engineers, foster collaboration, and influence technical direction.
* Troubleshoot complex issues, optimise performance, and plan for capacity at scale.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Deep expertise in CI/CD, automation, and pipeline architecture.
* Mastery of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) and configuration‑management (e.g., Ansible, Chef).
* Strong cloud architecture skills (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cost optimisation strategies.
* Advanced containerisation and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
* Proficiency in observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
* Security‑first mindset with hands‑on experience in access control, encryption, and incident response.
* Solid networking knowledge—protocols, routing, firewalls, and cloud networking.
* Experience integrating and optimising software delivery ecosystems (Git, Artifactory, Jenkins) as part of a cohesive platform strategy.
* Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Go, etc.).
