Elvet Recruitment have been appointed to recruit for a commercially astute and hands-on Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team, with a clear path to progress into a Commercial Manager role. Ideally suited to someone with a strong contracting background, this role is based within the renewables sector, offering the opportunity to work on impactful, sustainability-driven projects.
You will play a key role in shaping the commercial strategy of the business while supporting day-to-day project delivery, working in a small, ambitious team where your input will directly influence growth and performance.
Main duties will include:
* Prepare and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and regular commercial reporting.
* Oversee Net Subcontractor Cost (NSR) tracking and reconciliation.
* Maintain and update Schedule of Rates and support estimating for new work.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring transparency and trust in all commercial matters.
* Participate in project procurement, including subcontractor engagement and contract administration.
* Monitor and report project performance against budget, identifying risks and opportunities.
* Recruit, lead and mentor future team members, helping develop a high-performing commercial team.
* Contribute to business planning and commercial strategy as the company grows.
To be considered, applicants must have:
* Background in contracting, renewables or energy infrastructure sectors is not a necessity.
* Excellent knowledge of cost management, commercial reporting, and contract administration.
* Strong communication skills and client-facing experience.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
* Commercially driven with long-term ambition to step into a Commercial Manager role.
