Are you the person we are looking for? An opportunity has arisen for a talented Account Manager in the Sheffield area who can position commercially attractive and technically beneficial solutions to existing and new customers in the automation and control sector. You would be selling into a wide range of customers from small to medium enterprises up to blue chip companies.
Responsibilities
* Manage and develop sales within a territory typically covering one or two counties with an existing customer base (around 70 accounts) and annual spend of approximately £2M.
* Decide the sales strategy and use the best resources to ensure excellent customer service.
* Identify new opportunities by following up marketing leads and leveraging your network and knowledge of the territory.
* Plan to visit customers four days per week; collaborate with the internal sales team in Leeds to support orders while maintaining field-facing activities.
* Leverage the technical experience of Routeco product specialists during visits where specific knowledge is valuable.
Qualifications and Skills
* History of new business development and the ability to act independently.
* Strong will to succeed, tenacity, resilience, and excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to meet new people and build relationships; confident in handling objections and identifying customer needs.
* Knowledge of how things work and a desire to develop product knowledge; ability to coordinate resources to deliver return on time invested.
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders and achieving sales targets; flexible to meet customer expectations.
* Professional communication and alignment with company ethical values; integrity and trust with customers.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Knowledge of Control and Automation or related technical solutions is advantageous; training will be provided.
