Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant: Provide full-time SEMH support across KS2 pupils. Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils displaying emotional and behavioural difficulties. Use de-escalation and regulation strategies to maintain a safe learning environment. Assist with classroom learning, modelling and reinforcing key skills. Implement personalised behaviour and learning plans consistently. Support pupils during transitions, routines and unstructured times. Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff. Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare. Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: SEMH/EBD experience is essential. Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour. Calm, patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships. Skilled in behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques.
