Responsibilities
* Design, management and delivery of desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation strategies.
* Undertake occasional supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and remediation.
* Prepare and check high-quality technical reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Provide sound technical input and advice on contaminated land, waste, materials management, groundwater, and ground gas risk assessments.
* Provide sound technical input and advice on geotechnical engineering matters including preliminary foundation optioning, design calculations, earthworks and mining risk assessment, investigation and treatment.
* Check/approve laboratory scheduling.
Qualifications
* BSc/MSc in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Sciences, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Typically 5-10 years' experience in geo-environmental consultancy.
* Strong technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and risk assessment frameworks (e.g., LCRM, BS10175, BS5930, CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Industry Code of Practice, Eurocode 7/ BS8004, NHBC Standards).
* Ability to manage and lead projects, with strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and contribute to financial reporting.
* Excellent communication and report writing skills.
* Working towards or holding Chartered status (CGeol, CEnv, CSci) desirable.
* Fluency with Microsoft Office; GIS/CAD knowledge desirable.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel / stay away overnight on occasion.
