The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. We are looking for an Operational Support Officer to provide an efficient and effective support service. You’ll be the first point of contact for business related enquiries, and you’ll gain an in-depth knowledge of the organisation and its processes whilst working with collaborators and customers, both internal and external. Administration will be a big part of your role; including venue, travel and equipment booking and preparation of paperwork. You'll use the information in our systems to produce reports and forecasts. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues to build relationships across the organisation, manage suppliers and the relationships with them, raising purchase orders and collating financial management requests and queries.
What we're looking for:
* Confident IT user with experience of common office systems, procedures, equipment and facilities
* Hold or be willing to work toward Business Administration qualifications.
* Self-motivated, flexible and able to work unsupervised and as part of a team, solve problems and make decisions with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to organise and prioritise a heavy and varied workload.
* Experience of co-ordinating meetings and record management systems; with an eye for detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills both written and verbal, at all levels and with external partnerships.
* Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:
* End-to-end administration duties including; word processing, document copying and distribution, filing, record keeping, mail recording and distribution, email management, and updating processes.
* Plan, coordinate and minute key meeting and conferences, and ensure actions are tracked, completed, and chasing progress where necessary.
* Provide a professional personal assistant support service to senior management team, including diary management, expenses, travel and accommodation management.
* Provide an effective reception service; managing visitors and staff.
* Maintain efficient inventories for asset verification, completing audit returns as required and ensuring compliance with procedures.
* Act as the main point of contact for enquiries and resolution of logistical support issues.
* Manage, administer, analyse and abstract information from systems to enable access to site/buildings and facilitate Constabulary operations and activities to produce reports and provide data.
* Manage and reconcile Government Procurement Card usage for the site.
* Manage building and fleet maintenance issues, in close liaison with relevant teams, and work as the relevant specialist function, coordinating, facilities, fleet maintenance and providing Fire Marshal, first aid at work and Health & Safety where appropriate.
* Handle a wide range of sensitive and confidential information, with a sound knowledge of how to apply GDPR and security classifications.

To be successful in the role you will need to display the following experience and skills:

* Posses, or be willing to work towards, a Business Administration qualification
* Experience of coordinating complex meetings and record management systems, possessing an eye for detail and accuracy
* Self-motivated and flexible to work unsupervised and within a team, solving problems and making decisions
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to organise and prioritise a heavy and varied workload
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work with complex and multidimensional partnerships
* Able to handle sensitive and confidential information, including medical in confidence and personal information with complete discretion
* Ability to work to strict deadlines in a pressured environment
