Overview
We are looking for an Engineering Shift Manager to join our Manufacturing Operation in Winsford Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Minimizing Machinery Downtime: oversee proactive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and swift response to unexpected breakdowns to ensure equipment is operational and production schedules are met.
* Improving Performance: continually seek opportunities to enhance equipment performance without compromising product quality, including process optimization, upgrades, and data‑driven improvements.
* Engineer Engagement: keep the engineering team engaged and motivated by fostering a positive work environment, providing training and development opportunities, and recognizing achievements.
* Asset Care Programme: lead and support the asset care programme to maintain and prolong asset life, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure best practices are followed.
* Hands-On Approach: be hands-on in repairing and optimizing equipment assets to model best practices and promptly address issues.
* Maintenance Coordination: coordinate maintenance priorities with the Maintenance team to plan and execute activities efficiently and minimize production disruptions.
* Crisis Incident Management: prepare for and manage crisis incidents, accidents, and near misses, including investigations and corrective actions to maintain a safe workplace.
* Discipline and Grievance: enforce discipline and grievance procedures to uphold standards and address misconduct appropriately.
Qualifications
* Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
* A proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from an FMCG environment (ideally the food industry).
* A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role.
* A good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot.
* A can do attitude and a strong work ethic.
