Job description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prioritise the wellbeing and development of your team
2. Effective communication with engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives
3. Support and encourage the development of your engineering team, contributing to annual goals
4. Write and/or review Temporary Works Design Briefs for TWC acceptance
5. Ensure delivery teams understand and work to the latest design
6. Produce and update whole life programmes, resource loading them to control interfaces and continuity
7. Review and approve CL31 and CL32 programmes from the supply chain
8. Understand, challenge, and contribute to project CL32 programmes
9. Review supply chain payment applications for your package
10. Understand and challenge design specifications and drawings where relevant
11. Ensure quality records are captured and correctly stored using the Common Data Environment
12. Set and maintain clear health and safety expectations with your team and suppliers
13. Set and maintain clear environmental management expectations with your team and suppliers
Job Requirements:
14. Degree-level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject, or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training
15. Effective written and verbal communication skills
16. Understanding of engineering principles and common construction methodologies
17. Knowledge of temporary works processes, design, and management
18. Understanding of construction contracts, ideally ECC NEC4
19. Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng) or willingness to work towards it
20. Digital competence in MS Office 365, document control systems, and site digital tools
21. Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS)
22. CSCS Card
23. Experience in delivering major highways schemes
