Overall job purpose
The DDaT – Application Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the IT Applications Operation discipline within the DDaT Operations job family and job functions associated with the design, build, delivery and maintenance of the Council's applications and software systems. They will work collaboratively with the other disciplines to implement and support high-quality, cost-effective software solutions to meet a hugely complex range of business requirements across the organisation. They will lead research into emerging technologies in application integration, maintenance, monitoring and automation to ensure the Council are prepared for changes in the technology landscape.
Reporting to the DDaT IT Operations Manager, this post will play a key role in achieving the strategic goals of the DDaT team. They will provide direction and management to their team and lead and contribute to projects.
The post holder will provide leadership to a team of officers to ensure the council continually improve the performance, resilience, and security of its software systems. They will ensure the development of their teams to meet the changing technology needs of the organisation through mentoring, assessment, and continuous improvement.
