A vibrant primary school in the heart of Handsworth B20 is seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who need help managing their emotions, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
This is a long-term, full-time role working closely with children who may display challenging behaviour due to underlying social, emotional or mental health needs (SEMH). You'll play a key role in helping them build confidence, stay focused, and thrive in school.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
Help de-escalate challenging situations and encourage positive behaviour choices
Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and class teachers to put support plans in place
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote resilience and self-regulation
Create a calm, safe space where children feel heard and supportedWhat We're Looking For:
Experience working with children with behavioural or SEMH needs (school or youth work setting ideal)
A patient, calm and consistent approach
