A well established, successful and growing law firm who specialise in various areas of law, are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Court of Protection department. Experience in Court of Protection is essential, and preferably brain injury experience but full training will be provided.
1. To work as part of a collaborative and collegiate Court of Protection team
2. To assist the Solicitors in the department with their caseload of professional deputyships and professional trusteeships
3. To draft legal documents including court applications, statements and letters
4. To maintain relationships with clients, their families, Solicitors, therapists and other professionals on the phone, by email and, when required, in person
5. Preparation of OPG annual reports
6. To assist with FLA calls/emails within skill, knowledge and experience
7. To manage the deputyship and client designated account balances and provide regular reports on spending to the File Handlers
8. To make payments from the deputyship and client designated accounts as approved by the File Handler
9. Monthly reconciliation of deputyship and client designated accounts
10. To manage a caseload of execution only Personal Injury Trusts
11. To manage a caseload of lay deputyship applications
12. Opening and closure of files
