Due to the nature of the work involved, you will be required to attend customer sites both in the UK and overseas, with occasional work across client offices in Derbyshire, Greater Manchester, and West Midlands.
THE ROLE
As part of our continued business growth, our client has immediate requirements for an experienced and dynamic Product Manager, responsible for delivering products to the market and overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
The Product Manager should be skilled in market analysis, understanding customer needs, identifying market gaps, and emerging trends. They act as the ‘bridge’ between market needs and the software development team, ensuring that the product roadmap and software developments meet customer demands and drive business growth.
THE PERSON
* At least 3 years of commercial experience in a similar product manager role, ideally from an industrial IT, engineering, or industrial control systems background.
* Drive product planning from design concepts and feature roadmaps through development, customer feedback, and end-of-life management, ensuring timely delivery of features.
* Analyze customer needs, market trends, and potential partnerships from build-vs.-buy perspectives.
* Develop user stories based on product requirements for the development team.
* Experience in delivering product marketing strategies, including go-to-market plans, with an understanding of channel-based/two-tier partnerships.
* Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final engineering development, including validation of test cases.
* Create product strategy documents covering business cases, use cases, technical requirements, budgets, and ROI.
* Manage the product’s cost-benefit analysis and measure its commercial success.
* Act as the product champion within the business, presenting at events both in the UK and overseas, and promoting the products in the marketplace.
