Role Summary

Applications are invited for Non-Medical Clinical Lecturer posts. These roles are available to nurses, midwives, allied health professionals (NMAHPs) and pharmacists. The posts are for a maximum of four years. The aim of these posts is to provide time and support for early post-doctoral NMAHPs to develop their clinical academic careers, conduct preliminary research and receive support and training to enable them to be successful in submission of post-doctoral or intermediate level research fellowships.


Clinical and Research Balance

Non-Medical Clinical Lecturer posts are 50% clinical and 50% research, with the time to be taken flexibly. The posts are not limited by clinical specialty, area of health and/or care services or research focus as long as it is to the benefit of patients and/or public health.


Employment Details

The successful post-holder will continue their clinical roles in their employing organisations at 50% full-time equivalent (FTE) and therefore retain their employment rights and pension. The 50% FTE research time will be funded by NHSE East of England in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, where the post-holder will hold a secondment contract in an appropriate department. The choice of academic department should be determined by their field of research and one that can provide them with the best research-active environment and mentorship to support their career goals. Funding will be directly allocated to the NHS host organisation from NHSE East of England.


Salary

Commensurate with current salary.


Eligibility

* Hold registration with a NIHR approved regulatory body, with the exception of the General Dental Council and General Medical Council.
* Be employed by a provider of health and/or care services that is providing at least 50% of its services free at the point of delivery.
* Spend approximately 50% of their current role delivering health and/or care services that are free at the point of delivery.
* Work in the East of England NHS region.
* Have completed their PhD or have submitted and had their viva with only minor corrections at the time of interview, with confirmation as passed by the HEI by the date of commencement in post.
