We are a well-established and successful company, one of Europe’s leading designers and manufacturers within the engineering sector, based in Frimley. We employ over 250 staff in the UK. Due to growth, a new role has been created for a Facilities Electrician to join our team. This role supports the Facilities Engineering team by carrying out electrical and facilities-related work, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of systems within a dynamic and varied environment.
Working full-time, Monday to Friday with an early finish on a Friday, this onsite role offers a salary of up to £42k, with possible overtime. Benefits include free parking, a personal pension, 24 days holiday, and an annual profit share bonus scheme.
Reporting to the Health and Safety & Facilities Manager, the role involves a mix of facility-related tasks around the campus and electrical tasks to ensure a safe working environment for all buildings. This position may suit someone seeking an employed role after contracting or looking for a new challenge in a larger organization.
The ideal candidate will have previous electrical experience in a commercial environment and be qualified in commercial electrical installations, holding a Level 3 City & Guilds (2391, 2394 & 2395), AM2, and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical:
o Assembly, installation, maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, repair, and disassembly of electrical plant and components.
o Stay updated with revisions to relevant building and safety regulations.
o Conduct in-service inspection & testing of electrical equipment (PAT) in line with compliance requirements.
o Perform Fix Testing as per regulation requirements for all units as per set programme.
o Work at heights to access warehouse areas for electrical repairs/installs.
o Liaise with external contractors for larger electrical projects.
o Address and close electrical defects from external inspection reports.
2. Facilities:
o Undertake breakdown maintenance on facility equipment.
o Perform building maintenance tasks, monitor, and resolve issues using Jira.
o Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation of facilities equipment.
o Perform work following good engineering practices and the PM programme.
o Use tools ranging from hand & power tools to precision instruments.
o Provide feedback on external H&S compliance reports and organize resolutions.
o Monitor the engineering asset register and coordinate contractors for maintenance.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified in commercial electrical installations.
* Level 3 City & Guilds (2391, 2394 & 2395), AM2, and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Experience working alongside or as an electrician.
* Experience with building maintenance and working independently.
* Understanding of statutory/non-statutory documents, BS7671 regulations, and electrical legislation.
* Knowledge of Portable Appliance Testing.
* Ability to perform preventative checks, inspections, interpret reports, and maintain documentation for audits.
