We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operator, this role is responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across our entire property portfolio. The Maintenance Operator will ensure all sites are maintained to a high standard, focusing on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role involves travel between multiple locations across the East Midlands, and London. We require someone who has excellent communication, organisation, and practical skills.
This could be suitable for a finishing foreman or someone who has worked on multi sites as a caretaker.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites, including Basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, painting/decorating, and general repairs
* Ensure timely completion and site confirmation of tasks
* Regularly update the internal job reporting system with task status and progress
* Complete job requests raised through the reporting system and accurately log work carried out
* Conduct routine maintenance inspections to identify and address issues proactively
* Respond to emergency maintenance requests quickly and effectively
* Ensure all work is compliant with health and safety regulations and internal standards
* Collaborate with site teams and external contractors on large-scale repairs and refurbishment projects
* Maintain clear records of maintenance work, inspections, and materials used
* Monitor and maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and effective operation
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Full UK driving licence, you will be given access to a company van
* Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
* Competence in basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting, and minor electrical repairs
* Confidence in changing plugs on basic electrical appliances (e.g. kettle, toaster)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable:
* Certified First Aider
* Fire Warden qualification
