David Harber is a multi‑award winning, internationally renowned design house that creates hand‑crafted sculptures, sundials and water features for some of the world’s most prestigious sites – from Windsor Castle to private gardens across Asia, Europe and the USA. The Design Director will shape the creative future of this global brand, leading a talented team and representing the house at high‑profile events worldwide.
Role at a Glance
* Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office) with minimum 6 international trips per year.
* Industry: Luxury sculpture, design, and outdoor art.
* Team: Lead the design studio, collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Marketing.

Responsibilities
* Own the full design process – research, ideation, concept, innovation and commercialisation – for the New, Bespoke and Classic collections.
* Translate the brand’s creative direction into elegant, commercially successful products that honour the founder’s legacy.
* Lead, mentor and develop a talented creative team, fostering curiosity, pushing boundaries and unlocking new potential.
* Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations and Marketing to energise stakeholders and deliver outstanding results.
* Represent the brand globally, speaking at design events, leading CPDs and building influential networks within the luxury design community.
* Champion the brand on an international stage, forging relationships with private collectors, architects, developers and art consultants.
* Ensure the Classic range remains fresh and aligned with market trends while growing the product portfolio.
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in visual, product or craft design.
* Extensive senior‑level experience in the luxury sector, with a strong grasp of historical, classical and contemporary design.
* Proficiency in 3D, conceptual design, luxury sculpture, jewellery, furniture and interior architecture.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate complex briefs into elegant, market‑ready solutions.
* Exceptional communication, networking and public‑speaking skills; confident in face‑to‑face client interactions.
* Proven track record of leading, motivating and developing a creative team.
* Positive, open approach with a passion for inspiring clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
