Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup dedicated to transforming the global energy landscape through innovation and scalable infrastructure. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field to support various projects across our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and R&D teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality 3D designs, detailed mechanical drawings, and manufacturing-ready documentation for a range of mechanical systems. This includes piping layouts, equipment assemblies, tolerance specs, and design optimisation for manufacturability—while ensuring alignment with industry standards and successful vendor collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical drawings for systems, test stands, and both pilot- and large-scale builds.
* Support the R&D team by developing CAD models and fabrication-ready designs for first-of-a-kind concepts.
* Optimise system layouts, piping runs, and mechanical component placement to maximise performance, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.
* Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and suppliers to maintain clean, organised CAD files and documentation.
* Liaise with vendors and manufacturers to ensure feasibility, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability of designs.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, CAD modelling, and manufacturing support.
* Proficient in SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent CAD tools.
* Strong understanding of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA).
* Solid grasp of mechanical systems, engineering design principles, and ISO standards.
* Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus
* Hands-on experience working with external suppliers and manufacturers.
* Familiarity with piping design and fluid system layouts.
* Knowledge of FEA tools or mechanical simulation techniques.
* Background in scaling R&D concepts to production-grade systems.
Benefits
* Competitive Salary
* Paid annual leave
* Supportive and collaborative engineering environment
* Opportunities to work on cutting-edge systems and innovative technology
