Who We Are
IWS Water Hygiene (WH) a division of South Staffordshire Plc. IWS (WH) provides services in all aspects of water hygiene and legionella control including legionella risk assessments into the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial and retail customers. IWS Water Hygiene, is one of the most successful businesses in the Water Treatment market and you could be joining this vibrant, forward-thinking company.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
* Identify and analyse potential target markets and industries that require water treatment solutions for cooling towers, steam boilers, process water systems, pre-treatment, and water softeners.
* Research and understand the specific water treatment needs and challenges of potential clients within these sectors. (Pharma, FM, End user…)
* Monitor industry trends, regulations, and competitor activities in the water treatment market.
* Proactively generate new leads through targeted outreach, networking, industry events, online research, and referrals, focusing on businesses that can benefit from our specific technical expertise.
* Qualify leads based on their water treatment requirements, budget, and decision-making process.
* Effectively communicate our expertise in cooling towers, steam boilers, process water systems, pre-treatment, and water softeners to prospective customers.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., plant managers, facilities managers, procurement) within target organizations.
* Act as the primary point of contact for new business opportunities, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding our water treatment solutions.
* Attend industry-specific events, conferences, and networking sessions to build relevant connections.
What You’ll Need
* Certified in Legionella awareness and control and has a recognised Legionella qualification (City & Guilds, IOSH, Water Management Society etc..) Would be advantageous
* Possesses a minimum of two years of progressive experience in business development, building a strong foundation in strategic planning, lead generation, and client relationship management
* Minimum of two years’ experience in the water treatment industry and working on treatment systems (steam, cooling, pre-treatment, water softeners etc..).
* Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the water treatment industry or technical solutions sector
* Understanding of industrial processes and the importance of water treatment in various applications
* Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts related to cooling towers, steam boilers, process water systems, pre-treatment, and water softeners
