Red Star are seeking an experienced SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER to oversee their work on our upcoming co-production of an animated feature film. The Senior Production Manager will be the senior person responsible for all the production activities of Red Star on the project, under the overall supervision of the film’s Line Producer (based in Germany) and reporting to the manager of Red Star, Ben Smith. This is a fully remote position, but due to the way the project is funded you must be physically based in the UK. Responsibilities Devise, implement and manage Red Star’s schedule and production strategy for its activities on the project. Ensure Red Star meets its goals and objectives as defined by the film’s directors and producers. Manage approvals on all levels of Red Star’s activity to ensure schedules are maintained. Be continually aware of the status of the project and ensure it is on schedule and budget. Generate progress and cost reports for the Line Producer and Producers for internal and external use. Supervise the key creative leadership of the project, department heads and junior Production Manager(s) and coordinators. Serve as the main point of coordination and contact between the production team and the producer(s) / client(s). Oversee project-specific recruitment. Screen, interview and hire candidates in cooperation with department leads and other management. Be proactive in planning and troubleshooting the pipeline for production. Foster a creative culture and environment throughout the project team so crew are empowered to do their best work. Oversee final delivery of the project deliverables to the Producers. Skills & Requirements Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production role in animation. A thorough knowledge of Autodesk Shotgrid and experience using it animation / VFX production. A grounding in the technical process of 3D CGI animation. The ability to work proactively and independently and manage complex projects with competing priorities. Working knowledge of Maya. This is a full-time position for approx. 18 months, expected to start September 2025 [TBC].
