We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools across Huddersfield. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced support staff, or individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience within education.
The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with the work that has been set.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Supervising students and maintaining a positive learning environment
* Ensuring students complete work set by teaching staff
* Providing support and guidance where appropriate
* Recording attendance and reporting any issues to relevant staff
* Upholding safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
✅ Excellent organisational and behaviour management skills
✅ A proactive, flexible, and professional attitude
✅ Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
✅ A genuine interest in education and student development
