This role will need you to be able to: Create an inclusive, trauma‑informed learning environment that builds trust, safety, and positive engagement for learners with limited prior schooling or significant barriers to learning. Plan and deliver highly differentiated, practical, and accessible learning activities that focus on core skills, personal development, and meaningful progress at an individual pace. Use relational behaviour approaches to re‑engage learners, including consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and personalised support for social, emotional, and communication needs. Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external agencies to remove barriers, track progress, and promote learner wellbeing, attendance, and successful transitions. If you can demonstrate the following then we’d love to hear from you: Experience of teaching or supporting learners with low prior attainment, SEND, SEMH, or significant disengagement, with the ability to rebuild confidence and motivation. Strong behaviour‑for‑learning and relational practice skills, including de‑escalation, trauma‑informed approaches, and consistent, calm communication. Ability to differentiate learning effectively and adapt teaching methods to meet a wide range of cognitive, social, and communication needs. Relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) and evidence of ongoing professional development in inclusive or alternative education settings.
