Position
The Senior IT Support Analyst will provide advanced technical support and ensure the security, resilience, and compliance of IT systems within a highly regulated nuclear engineering environment. The role demands strong expertise in infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and adherence to nuclear sector standards.
Key activities:
1. Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, networking, and security issues.
2. Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2019-2025), Active Directory and Entra ID.
3. Administer Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
4. Administer Microsoft 365 services including Purview, Exchange Online and Teams.
5. Support VMware vSphere and Horizon VDI environments.
6. Ensure systems are patched and maintained in line with organisational policies.
7. Assist with backup and disaster recovery processes to maintain business continuity.
8. Deploy and manage endpoint security and patching solutions.
9. Collaborate with IT colleagues and stakeholders to resolve incidents and implement improvements.
10. Assist with network troubleshooting.
11. Participate/lead IT projects.
12. Maintain accurate documentation.
13. Provide occasional out-of-hours support.
Requirements
14. Experience in 2nd line IT support within enterprise environments.
15. Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.
16. Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
17. Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
18. Familiarity with backup and recovery tools and processes.
19. Awareness of IT security best practices and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, CAF 2.0).
20. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Senior-level IT support experience.
21. Autodesk software support.
22. UK national as SC clearance is a requirement
23. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
24. Exposure to hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
25. Other hypervisor technologies – Nutanix AHV, MS Hyper-V/Azure.
Other information
The role is office based, in Wolverhampton.
For this role you must be a UK national or have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of five years and must meet the eligibility to complete a BPSS check as well as SC clearance.
