Role Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Health & Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety and Fire Team at Birmingham Airport. This particular post will have an emphasis towards health and safety associated with our property, tenants and contractors. You will play an important role in providing professional advice, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to strategic safety initiatives and cultural change across the airport community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a health and safety generalist, supporting the management of health, safety and fire risks
2. Support the delivery and development of the Health, Safety and Fire strategy and delivery plan
3. Provide practical advice and guidance to stakeholders across the airport, tenants and contractors
4. Share responsibility for the safe management of contractors, tenants and property-based risks
5. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety culture and compliance
6. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to promote best practice
Duties:
7. Provide competent, pragmatic health and safety advice across a diverse and complex risk environment
Review and develop health, safety and fire policies, procedures and guidance
8. Lead or support investigations into accidents, incidents and near-misses, sharing lessons learned
9. Undertake audits and site inspections, including CDM projects and third-party tenants
10. Develop and deliver health and safety training to raise awareness and competence
11. Produce reports and action plans, agreeing and tracking improvement actions
