We are looking for
An enthusiastic and dedicated individual to provide effective and efficient secretarial support to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at Bristol Royal Infirmary. The candidate should have secretarial/administrative experience and skills.
The department is fast-paced; the candidate must be a team player, work well in a multidisciplinary team, and be able to work independently managing their workload.
They will interact with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals via phone and email, requiring excellent communication skills and a courteous, empathetic manner.
The candidate should have good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, experience in proofreading and editing, and meet the essential criteria for this role.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting Senior Medical Secretaries with admin tasks, typing, and overseeing basic duties.
2. Liaising with clinical and non-clinical staff via phone and email.
3. Acting as a contact point for patients, relatives, and carers, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
4. Returning calls promptly and providing updates.
5. Escalating queries and issues to relevant staff.
6. Maintaining a caring and professional approach, including resilience when dealing with distressed individuals.
