Job Title: Multi Trade OperativeLocation: Cornwall We are working with a busy and reputable contractor to recruit an experienced Multi Trade Operative to deliver responsive maintenance and repairs on MOD (Ministry of Defence) properties in Cornwall. This role involves working within occupied and void military housing, where professionalism, reliability, and respect for residents are essential. You will be customer-facing, ensuring a high standard of work while maintaining a safe and secure working environment. Due to the nature of the contract, security clearance and background checks will be required. The RoleAs a Multi Trade Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of responsive repairs and maintenance tasks across MOD housing stock. You will be expected to work efficiently, often independently, while delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Multi Trade Operative – Day to Day Duties: Attending properties across Cornwall to carry out responsive maintenance and repairs Completing a variety of trade tasks including: Carpentry repairs (doors, locks, kitchens, fencing) Basic plumbing (tap changes, leak repairs, sanitary ware) Tiling and patch repairs Painting and decorating General property maintenance Diagnosing faults and completing repairs on first visit where possible Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations Working in occupied MOD homes, maintaining professionalism at all times Accurately recording works completed and reporting to your supervisor Driving a company van safely and responsiblyRequirements: Proven experience as a Multi Trade Operative / Multiskilled Engineer Strong skills across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, decorating, etc.) Experience working in social housing, MOD, or similar environments preferred Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Excellent customer service and communication skills Full UK Driving Licence Ability to pass DBS and MOD security clearance checksWhat’s on Offer: Competitive hourly rate (CIS / Umbrella / PAYE options available) Company van and fuel card (if applicable) Ongoing, long-term work with a reputable contractor Opportunity to work on a secure and well-established contractThis is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Multi Trade Operative to join a busy contract in Cornwall, working within MOD housing and contributing to the maintenance of essential accommodation.
