About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will manage 4-5 projects simultaneously, balancing long‑term original equipment (OE) projects spanning 1‑3 years with shorter retrofit projects. You will be the central point of contact, liaising with customers and internal engineering and production teams to ensure projects are finished on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Ownership: take full responsibility for project execution from initial design to handover to production for OE projects, and manage the entire process for one‑off or two‑off retrofit projects through manufacturing and delivery.
* Coordination & Communication: act as the primary liaison between customer technical teams and internal business units, relaying information and enabling seamless collaboration.
* Problem Solving & Execution: drive projects forward, involving pricing, planning and proactive pursuit of internal teams and customers to meet deadlines; work on the shop floor to confirm progress.
* Relationship Building: build strong personal relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, rather than relying solely on authority.
* Design Element: manage design teams under a matrix structure; while not a CAD design role, CAD experience is a definite bonus.
* Technical Skills: apply engineering knowledge to support project success.
What We're Looking For
* A professional with experience beyond a university graduate role—someone in their “second job” who is ready to make independent decisions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
* A proactive, self‑motivated individual who can take initiative and drive projects forward.
* Experience in project coordination within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively.
Finances
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum.
