Role
NDT Engineering Technician Apprentice
We are currently recruiting for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineering Technician Apprentices to work alongside our highly skilled and motivated site NDT team based at Hinkley Point C. While working within the team you will also be completing a Level III apprenticeship and studying for three PCN Level 2 Qualifications.
Requirements
To ensure consideration you will have obtained a minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above (grade 4 or above in the new grading system), including Maths and English. You will also need to demonstrate good eyesight (Jaeger 1), either aided or unaided. During the 24 month apprenticeship you will demonstrate competence in this science-based profession that requires competent Engineering Technicians to inspect materials, welds, components and plant to verify their integrity without rendering them unfit for further service.

* Writing of NDT reports to a suitable standard detailing all areas of test, restrictions and results.
* Ensure that all work is performed efficiently and in a timely manner.
HSEQ Responsibilities
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with and follows the Company's Policy for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems to maintain our system certification. The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to the HSEQ Department Manager. The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company policies, procedures, guidelines, control measures, signage and permit conditions and to know what to do in an emergency. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications & Experience
* Apprentices to have a minimum of three GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above (grade 4 or above in the new grading system), including English and maths. Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
* There is also a requirement to have good aided or unaided eyesight, to satisfy the mandatory NDT eyesight test, and to have appropriate physical fitness in order to operate in industrial environments.
