About The Role
As a CDC Analyst, you’ll enhance security and protect organisational assets and users by monitoring, detecting and responding to security incidents within the Cyber Defence Centre (CDC).
You’ll play a critical role in incident response, swiftly investigating and mitigating security breaches to minimize their impact. The role involves monitoring and detecting emerging threats, communicating findings to stakeholders, and contributing to the development of security policies and procedures.
This role is vital in ensuring the safety and reliability of UK critical national infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cybersecurity Monitoring: Continuously monitor the efficacy of OT security solutions deployed within the OT environment.
2. Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response plans for handling cyber incidents in OT environments, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
3. Vulnerability Management: Assess vulnerabilities in OT systems and coordinate remediation efforts.
4. Collaboration: Work with IT and Engineering teams to resolve security incidents promptly.
5. Documentation: Keep detailed records of incidents, assessments, and remediation actions.
Additional Responsibilities
* Analyze situations to determine appropriate solutions.
* Engage with colleagues and contractors, proposing process improvements.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
* Respond to security events and incidents efficiently.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have a background in Cyber Security or Operational Technology, with knowledge of network security and certifications such as SEC+, Net+, SANS, or GIAC. An understanding of security frameworks like NIS/NIST/IEC/SoGP and relevant legislation is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and lead small projects.
