Woodlands Inpatient Unit have a rare and exciting opportunity for a full-time and a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant, to join our supportive team. You will work with the Occupational Therapists and MDT across the Unit and will be supported by the team which is led by the Allied Health Professional Lead for Salford. There are lots of opportunities for continuing professional development, including shadowing, courses, in-service CPD and Apprenticeship opportunities to apply for. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to engage in their meaningful occupations and improve their quality of life. You need to be high-energy, motivated and organised.

Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of the Woodlands inpatient team and will provide support and assistance to the Occupational Therapy staff in the team. The purpose of this post is to work directly with service users who experience organic and/or functional illness and their carers/family. The post-holder would work under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist, following delegated therapeutic treatment plans which work towards our patients goals.

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
