Catering Assistants within the hospital play a vital role in maintaining high standards of meal provision to patients and contribute to the wider care team supporting patients during their hospital stay. You should have good organisational and communication skills, be flexible in your approach, and demonstrate the ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of a friendly, dedicated team at Bridport Hospital.
As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include preparing sandwiches and salads, assisting in meal preparation, hot/cold snacks served within our staff dining room, and serving visitors, staff, and patients. You will also carry out general kitchen duties, including maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
This role is for 31 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the following shift pattern:
* Week 1: Monday 09:00-16:00, Tuesday 07:00-15:30, Wednesday 10:30-16:00, Thursday 10:30-16:00, Friday 10:30-16:00
* Week 2: Monday 09:00-16:00, Tuesday 10:30-16:00, Wednesday 10:30-16:00, Thursday 10:30-19:00, Friday 10:30-16:00
Additional responsibilities include washing up, packing frozen meals for onward delivery, and other catering duties, making this a full and varied role essential to the smooth running of the hospital kitchen.
